Can anyone tell me about San Pedro, Belize? My husband and I are looking to take a tropical vacation with options for fishing. Is San Pedro a good choice? Which hotel do you recommend? We usually prefer all-inclusive, if there is one there. Any advice is welcome!

I am Liz and I am a San Pedrana. I was checking up on news and pictures of San Pedro and I spoted this question link. I was born in Belize but lived in San Pedro my whole life. I think if you choose to travel to Belize, it will be an experience of a life time. The atmosphere is so friendly.
To be very honest, San Pedro is constantly changing and it has been a while since i have inspected the hotels. I can look into it for you and get back to you. I would suggest to go to Yahoo Travel and type in Business Hotels in San Pedro. This means can be a started for you so as to have an idea of what is available and how they are ranked. Almost all of the hotels have their own restaurant but if you choose to stay in town, everything is walking distance. There are a few hotels that are a way out from the Island and are really beautiful and private.
As for the fishing entertainment, i would suggest my great friend Mr. Robert Gonzalez aka "Robby". He has his own dive shop in San Pedro. He does scuba diving and scuba instructions and he is able to pick you up from any hotel you choose to stay with. Trust me, one trip with him, you will want to go through the experience over and over again. His contact details is Robbie@ambergriscayediving.com or 001-501-610-4424.
Some hotels have their own contact individuals they might recommend in regards to fishing, diving etc.
